Editors’ Note

Dear Friends,

Summer is here and the heat is no joke. At MoonPark there are many trees and plenty of shade but standing in the open meadow, or on the gravel road just beyond our gate, the sun’s full force can melt you to the ground when it puts its mind to it.

We recommend pulling up a hammock, and loading up your tea with lots of ice, before you dig into this, our 28th issue of MoonPark Review. In the pages ahead you’ll find stories and prose poems full of life’s complications, heartaches, and revelations. You’ll find a prescient octopus, an immortal jellyfish, and a fish on a bicycle. You’ll learn how to write a story in skin and how to break up with your AI companion. And so much more.

If you’re a writer, we hope you’ll take a browse through our Submission Guidelines and consider sending us your work. We keep things fairly simple in order to keep costs down, enabling us to remain a completely “free to submit” journal. To help us keep our gmail-inbox-submission-queue manageable, we’ve added a new rule to our Guidelines – please, every new submission should be sent in a separate e-mail chain with the title of your story in the Subject line. We’ve run into some problems when writers make additional submissions by responding to a previous e-mail response from us. So, do have a careful read of our updated Guidelines before you submit your next piece to us.

We hope your Solstice and the summer ahead is a peaceful one.
