Breathlessness

By Claire Polders

breathlessness
I smother the moth in a jar, just to see it shrivel. But at night the moth revives, ghosting my dreams and infesting my imagination. One day, I awake to the sound of crinkling paper, and the moth, an infinite origami of stories, wraps its wings around my mouth.
